Yesterday I was noodling around online and discovered that:
1. Tony Hawks has a new book coming out: The Fridge-Hiker's Guide to Life
2. He also has a CD called Songs from the Second Drawer Down, and all proceeds go to his Moldovan childrens' charity. Must see how I can donate from the US -- samples of the CD at his site are really cool.
3. Stephen Clarke's latest book, Merde Happens, is now available in the US (weird, I thought it was going to be called Merde in the USA -- maybe that was the UK title?).
Then, I was channel-surfing last night and found out that:
4. The Proclaimers have a new album out -- and it's a double CD set.
I am so there!

The morning freebie paper can be good for something: this interview alerted me to a book that I definitely want to read, A Supremely Bad Idea: Three Mad Birders and Their Quest to See It All. Sounds right up my alley!
Also this morning, in the Utne Reader, I found a review for Shopping for Porcupine: A Life in Arctic Alaska by Seth Kantner. Sounds a little like The Good Life: Up the Yukon Without a Paddle, so I think I will like it (and so would
nicotaudarian, who gave the other book to me).
If anyone's read them, let me know what you think.
